The Templar
The Templar, or the Knights Templar, was a medieval Christian military order founded in 1119. Their primary mission was to protect pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land during the Crusades. The order gained significant wealth and power, establishing a network of fortifications and financial systems across Europe and the Middle East.
The Templars were known for their distinctive white mantles adorned with a red cross. They played a crucial role in various battles and were involved in the politics of the time. However, in the early 14th century, the order was disbanded by Pope Clement V under pressure from King Philip IV of France, leading to the arrest and persecution of many Templars.
