The Smiths
The Smiths were an English rock band formed in Manchester in 1982. The group consisted of lead vocalist Morrissey, guitarist Johnny Marr, bassist Andy Rourke, and drummer Mike Joyce. They are known for their distinctive sound, which combined jangly guitar melodies with introspective and often melancholic lyrics.
The band released four studio albums before disbanding in 1987. Their music has had a lasting influence on alternative rock and indie pop, with songs like "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" and "This Charming Man" becoming iconic. The Smiths remain a significant part of British music history.
