The Pleiades
The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters, is a star cluster located in the constellation Taurus. It consists of several bright stars, with the most prominent being Alcyone, Merope, Electra, Taygeta, Celaeno, Sterope, and Maia. The cluster is approximately 444 light-years away from Earth and is one of the nearest star clusters to our planet.
Visible to the naked eye, the Pleiades has been significant in various cultures and mythologies throughout history. In addition to its prominence in astronomy, it has been used for navigation and is often associated with the arrival of spring in many traditions.
