The Monkey King, also known as Sun Wukong, is a central character in the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. He is a powerful monkey born from a stone who gains supernatural abilities through Taoist practices. Known for his mischievous nature, he defies heaven and challenges authority, leading to his imprisonment by the Buddha.
After his release, the Monkey King becomes a loyal protector of the monk Xuanzang on a pilgrimage to retrieve sacred Buddhist texts. Throughout their journey, he battles various demons and obstacles, showcasing his strength, intelligence, and loyalty while learning valuable lessons about humility and friendship.
