Sun Wukong, also known as the Monkey King, is a central character in the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West. He is a monkey born from a stone who gains supernatural powers through Taoist practices, including immense strength, speed, and the ability to transform into various forms. Sun Wukong is known for his rebellious nature and defiance against the heavens. After causing chaos in the celestial realm, he is eventually subdued by the Buddha and becomes a disciple of Xuánzàng, a monk on a pilgrimage to retrieve sacred Buddhist texts.
