The Gorilla
The gorilla is a large primate native to the forests of Africa. It is known for its strong build, with males weighing up to 450 pounds. Gorillas are primarily herbivorous, feeding on leaves, stems, and fruits. They live in social groups called troops, led by a dominant male known as a silverback.
Gorillas are divided into two species: the Eastern gorilla and the Western gorilla. Both species are critically endangered due to habitat loss, poaching, and disease. Conservation efforts are underway to protect these magnificent animals and their habitats, ensuring their survival for future generations.
