The Forest of Marston Vale
The Forest of Marston Vale is a large area of woodland located in Bedfordshire, England. It covers approximately 61 square kilometers and was created to restore the landscape after extensive gravel extraction. The forest is home to a variety of wildlife and offers numerous walking and cycling paths for visitors.
The project to develop the forest began in the 1990s, aiming to enhance biodiversity and provide recreational spaces for the community. It is part of the Marston Vale Community Forest initiative, which promotes environmental education and sustainable practices. The forest also features several lakes and wetlands, contributing to its ecological diversity.
