The Disappearance of Amelia Earhart
Amelia Earhart was a pioneering aviator who became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. In 1937, she attempted to circumnavigate the globe in her plane, the Lockheed Electra. During her journey, she disappeared over the Pacific Ocean near Howland Island on July 2, 1937, while attempting to communicate with the U.S. Coast Guard.
Despite extensive search efforts by the U.S. government and private organizations, no trace of Earhart or her plane was found. The mystery of her disappearance has led to numerous theories and speculations, making her one of the most famous figures in aviation history.
