The Ark
The Ark, often referred to as Noah's Ark, is a biblical vessel described in the Book of Genesis. According to the narrative, it was built by Noah at God's command to save his family and pairs of every animal species from a great flood sent to cleanse the earth of wickedness. The Ark is said to have been constructed from gopher wood and was large enough to accommodate these animals for the duration of the flood.
In addition to its religious significance, the Ark has become a symbol of hope and preservation. Many cultures and religions have their own flood myths, but the story of the Ark is particularly well-known in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The Ark represents themes of salvation, divine mercy, and the importance of caring for creation.
