Tham Luang
Tham Luang is a large cave system located in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand. It is part of the Tham Luang-Khun Nam Nang Non National Park and is known for its stunning limestone formations and underground rivers. The cave stretches for several kilometers and features various chambers, making it a popular destination for both tourists and spelunkers.
In June 2018, Tham Luang gained international attention when a youth soccer team, the Wild Boars, became trapped inside the cave due to rising floodwaters. A massive rescue operation involving divers and volunteers from around the world successfully saved all 12 boys and their coach after 18 days, highlighting the cave's challenging conditions.
