Thai Spirits
Thai spirits, known as Phra Phum, are believed to be the souls of ancestors or nature spirits that inhabit specific places. They play a significant role in Thai culture, where people honor and appease these spirits through rituals and offerings. Common offerings include food, flowers, and incense, which are placed at spirit houses, small shrines found in homes and businesses.
In addition to Phra Phum, there are various other spirits in Thai folklore, such as Nang Tani, a female spirit associated with the moon and water. These beliefs reflect the deep connection between the Thai people and their environment, emphasizing respect for both the living and the spiritual world.
