Thac Ba Hydropower Plant
The Thac Ba Hydropower Plant is located in Yen Bai Province, Vietnam. It was completed in 1971 and is one of the largest hydropower plants in the country. The plant harnesses the energy of the Thac Ba River to generate electricity, contributing significantly to the national power supply.
The facility has a total installed capacity of 110 megawatts, providing power to both local communities and the national grid. The Thac Ba Reservoir, created by the dam, also plays a vital role in irrigation and flood control in the surrounding areas, supporting agriculture and local ecosystems.
