Teyuna
Teyuna, also known as Ciudad Perdida, is an ancient archaeological site located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains of Colombia. It was built by the Tairona civilization around 800 AD and is considered one of the most significant pre-Columbian sites in the region. The site features a series of terraces, plazas, and stone pathways, showcasing the advanced engineering and agricultural practices of its builders.
The discovery of Teyuna in the 1970s revealed a complex urban center that once housed thousands of inhabitants. Today, it is a popular destination for hikers and tourists, who can explore the lush jungle surroundings and learn about the rich history of the Tairona people.
