Tendon Injuries
Tendon injuries occur when the fibrous tissues that connect muscles to bones become damaged. These injuries can result from overuse, sudden trauma, or repetitive motions, leading to pain, swelling, and reduced mobility. Common types of tendon injuries include tendinitis, which is inflammation of the tendon, and tendon tears, which can be partial or complete.
Treatment for tendon injuries often involves rest, ice, compression, and elevation (RICE). Physical therapy may also be recommended to strengthen the surrounding muscles and improve flexibility. In severe cases, surgical intervention may be necessary to repair the damaged tendon and restore function.
