Temple of the Sun
The Temple of the Sun is an ancient Inca structure located in the city of Cusco, Peru. It was dedicated to the worship of the sun god, Inti, and served as a significant religious site for the Inca civilization. The temple was known for its impressive stonework and was part of a larger complex that included other important buildings.
Originally, the temple was adorned with gold and silver, symbolizing the sun's importance in Inca culture. After the Spanish conquest, much of the temple was destroyed, and the materials were repurposed for colonial buildings. Today, the site remains a key attraction for visitors interested in Inca history and architecture.
