Teething
Teething is the process during which a baby's first set of teeth, known as primary teeth, emerge through the gums. This typically begins around six months of age and can continue until the child is about three years old. The process can cause discomfort, leading to symptoms such as drooling, irritability, and a desire to chew on objects.
Parents can help soothe their baby's discomfort by offering teething toys or gently massaging the gums with a clean finger. While teething is a normal part of development, it's important to monitor for any signs of excessive pain or illness, which may require a pediatrician's attention.
