Taulas
Taulas are ancient stone structures found primarily on the island of Menorca in the Balearic Islands, Spain. They consist of two large vertical stones topped by a horizontal slab, resembling a table. These megalithic monuments date back to the Talayotic period, around 1000 BC, and are believed to have served religious or ceremonial purposes.
The construction of taulas showcases the advanced engineering skills of the prehistoric inhabitants of Menorca. They are often located near other archaeological sites, such as talayots and navetes, indicating their significance in the island's ancient culture and social structure.
