Tataviam
The Tataviam are a Native American tribe originally from the San Fernando Valley region in California. They are part of the larger Tongva group and traditionally spoke the Tataviam language, which is now considered extinct. The tribe's territory included areas around the Santa Clara River and the San Gabriel Mountains.
Historically, the Tataviam people lived in small villages and relied on hunting, fishing, and gathering for sustenance. They crafted tools and baskets from local materials and had a rich cultural heritage, including storytelling and spiritual practices. Today, efforts are being made to preserve their history and culture through various initiatives.
