Tariqa
A Tariqa is a spiritual path or order in Sufism, which is a mystical branch of Islam. It provides a framework for followers, known as Sufis, to deepen their connection with the divine through practices such as meditation, chanting, and communal gatherings. Each tariqa often has its own unique teachings and rituals, guided by a spiritual leader called a sheikh.
Tariqas emphasize the importance of inner purification and personal experience of God. They often trace their lineage back to the Prophet Muhammad through various saints, creating a rich tradition of spiritual mentorship. This lineage helps maintain the teachings and practices that define each tariqa's approach to spirituality.
