Tangle-Web Spiders
Tangle-web spiders, also known as cobweb spiders, belong to the family Theridiidae. They are recognized for their irregular, tangled webs that are often found in corners of buildings, under furniture, or in vegetation. These webs are designed to trap insects, which the spiders consume.
These spiders are typically small and can vary in color, often appearing brown or gray. They are not aggressive and prefer to retreat when disturbed. Tangle-web spiders play a vital role in controlling insect populations in their habitats, contributing to the balance of local ecosystems.
