Tampons
Tampons are absorbent products designed for menstrual hygiene. They are typically made of cotton or a blend of materials and are inserted into the vagina to absorb menstrual fluid. Tampons come in various sizes and absorbencies to suit different flow levels and personal preferences.
To use a tampon, one must first wash their hands, then remove the tampon from its packaging. The applicator, if included, helps guide the tampon into place. Tampons should be changed every 4 to 8 hours to reduce the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), a rare but serious condition.
