Talysh language
The Talysh language is a member of the Northwest Iranian languages, primarily spoken by the Talysh people in the Talysh region of Azerbaijan and parts of Iran. It has two main dialects: Northern Talysh and Southern Talysh, which exhibit some differences in pronunciation and vocabulary.
Talysh is written using the Perso-Arabic script in Iran and the Latin alphabet in Azerbaijan. The language has a rich oral tradition, with folklore and poetry being significant aspects of Talysh culture. Despite its cultural importance, Talysh faces challenges, including declining numbers of speakers and limited official recognition.
