Tales of the Mabinogion
The "Tales of the Mabinogion" is a collection of medieval Welsh stories, written in Middle Welsh. These tales, dating from the 12th to 13th centuries, blend mythology, folklore, and history, featuring legendary figures such as King Arthur and Cuchulainn. They are considered some of the earliest prose literature in Britain.
The collection includes eleven tales, divided into four branches, each exploring themes of love, betrayal, and adventure. Notable stories include "Pwyll, Prince of Dyfed" and "Branwen, Daughter of Llŷr." The Mabinogion has significantly influenced Arthurian legends and modern fantasy literature.
