Talbot House
Talbot House, located in Poperinge, Belgium, was established during World War I as a rest and recreation center for soldiers. Founded by the Reverend Philip “Tubby” Clayton in 1915, it provided a safe haven where troops could relax, write letters, and enjoy a sense of normalcy amidst the chaos of war.
The house is notable for its welcoming atmosphere and unique features, including a chapel and a library. Today, Talbot House serves as a museum and memorial, preserving the history of the Great War and honoring the soldiers who visited during their time away from the front lines.
