Talaiotic culture
Talaiotic culture refers to a prehistoric civilization that thrived on the Balearic Islands, particularly in Mallorca and Menorca, from around 1000 BCE to 300 BCE. This culture is characterized by its unique architectural structures, including talaiots, which are large stone towers, and navetes, which are burial sites shaped like inverted boats. These constructions reflect the society's advanced engineering skills and social organization.
The Talaiotic people were primarily engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry, relying on the fertile land of the islands. They also practiced trade with neighboring regions, which contributed to their cultural development. Artifacts such as pottery and tools found at various sites provide insight into their daily life and customs.
