Taksiyarhis Church
Taksiyarhis Church, also known as the Church of the Transfiguration, is located in the town of Ayvalık in Turkey. Built in the 19th century, it showcases a blend of Byzantine and Ottoman architectural styles. The church was primarily used by the local Greek Orthodox community and features beautiful frescoes and intricate stonework.
After the population exchange between Greece and Turkey in the 1920s, the church fell into disuse. Today, Taksiyarhis Church stands as a historical site, attracting visitors interested in its rich cultural heritage and the history of the Greek Orthodox community in the region.
