Takao-Class
The Takao-Class is a series of heavy cruisers built for the Imperial Japanese Navy during the 1930s. Named after the lead ship, Takao, these vessels were designed for speed and firepower, featuring advanced radar and weaponry for their time. They played significant roles in various naval battles during World War II.
The class consists of five ships: Takao, Atago, Maya, Chōkai, and Kumano. Each ship was equipped with eight 203 mm guns and had a displacement of around 10,000 tons. The Takao-Class cruisers were known for their agility and effectiveness in combat, contributing to Japan's naval strategy during the war.
