Taiwanese macaque
The Taiwanese macaque, also known as the Formosan macaque, is a species of monkey native to Taiwan. These primates are characterized by their long tails, social behavior, and adaptability to various habitats, including forests and urban areas. They typically have a brownish or grayish coat and can weigh between 15 to 25 pounds.
Taiwanese macaques live in troops, which can consist of several individuals, and they communicate through vocalizations and body language. Their diet mainly consists of fruits, leaves, and insects, making them omnivorous. As a protected species, they play an important role in the ecosystem of Taiwan.
