Tainui
Tainui is one of the major Māori iwi (tribes) in New Zealand, primarily associated with the Waikato region. The iwi traces its ancestry to the legendary Māori explorer Kupe and the arrival of the Tainui canoe, which brought early settlers to New Zealand.
The Tainui people have a rich cultural heritage, including traditional practices, language, and art. They play a significant role in the preservation of Māori customs and are involved in various initiatives to promote their history and language, ensuring that their identity remains strong in contemporary society.
