Tactical Response Team
A Tactical Response Team (TRT) is a specialized unit within law enforcement agencies designed to handle high-risk situations that require advanced training and equipment. These teams are often called upon to respond to incidents such as hostage situations, armed standoffs, or counter-terrorism operations. Members of a TRT typically undergo rigorous training in tactics, negotiation, and the use of specialized weapons and equipment.
TRTs work closely with other units, such as SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) and Crisis Negotiation Teams, to ensure a coordinated response to critical incidents. Their primary goal is to resolve situations safely, minimizing risk to both the public and law enforcement personnel.
