THRUSH
THRUSH is a common fungal infection caused by an overgrowth of the Candida species, particularly Candida albicans. It often affects the mouth, throat, and genital areas, leading to symptoms like white patches, soreness, and discomfort. In the mouth, it is known as oral thrush, while in the genital area, it is referred to as vaginal thrush.
This condition can occur in anyone but is more prevalent in individuals with weakened immune systems, such as those with HIV/AIDS or diabetes. Treatment typically involves antifungal medications, which can help restore the natural balance of fungi and bacteria in the body.
