T-Cell Therapy
T-Cell Therapy is a type of treatment that uses the body's own immune cells, called T-cells, to fight diseases, particularly cancer. In this therapy, T-cells are collected from a patient's blood, modified in a lab to better recognize and attack cancer cells, and then infused back into the patient. This process helps the immune system target and destroy tumors more effectively.
One common form of T-Cell Therapy is CAR T-cell therapy, where T-cells are engineered to express a special receptor that binds to specific proteins on cancer cells. This innovative approach has shown promising results in treating certain types of blood cancers, such as leukemia and lymphoma.
