T’nalak
T’nalak is a traditional woven fabric made by the T’boli people of the Philippines. It is created using abaca fibers and is known for its intricate designs, which often feature geometric patterns and symbols that hold cultural significance. The process of making T’nalak involves a unique dyeing technique called “ikat,” where the threads are tied and dyed before weaving.
The fabric is not only a form of artistic expression but also serves as a representation of the T’boli's identity and heritage. T’nalak is often used in ceremonial attire and important cultural events, highlighting its importance in the community's traditions and social practices.
