Térraba
Térraba is a river located in the southern region of Costa Rica. It is one of the longest rivers in the country, flowing through the Térraba-Sierpe National Wetland and providing vital water resources to the surrounding ecosystems. The river is known for its rich biodiversity, including various species of fish and birds.
The Térraba area is also home to the indigenous Bribri and Cabécar communities, who have lived in harmony with the land for centuries. These communities rely on the river for fishing and agriculture, maintaining their traditional ways of life while also facing modern challenges.
