Synthetic Fuels
Synthetic fuels, often referred to as synfuels, are man-made fuels produced from various sources, including natural gas, coal, or biomass. They are designed to mimic conventional fossil fuels, such as gasoline or diesel, and can be used in existing engines and infrastructure without significant modifications.
The production of synthetic fuels typically involves chemical processes like Fischer-Tropsch synthesis or methanol synthesis. These processes convert carbon-containing materials into liquid fuels, offering a potential solution for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and dependence on traditional fossil fuels while utilizing renewable resources.
