Sydney Schanberg
Sydney Schanberg was an American journalist and author, best known for his reporting during the Cambodian Civil War. He worked for the New York Times and won the Pulitzer Prize in 1976 for his coverage of the fall of Phnom Penh. His work highlighted the struggles and suffering of the Cambodian people during a tumultuous period in their history.
In addition to his journalism, Schanberg wrote the book "The Death and Life of Dith Pran," which tells the story of his friend and interpreter, Dith Pran, who survived the Khmer Rouge regime. This book was later adapted into the acclaimed film "The Killing Fields," further cementing Schanberg's legacy in war reporting.
