Dith Pran
Dith Pran was a Cambodian photojournalist and a survivor of the Khmer Rouge regime, which ruled Cambodia from 1975 to 1979. He is best known for his work during the Vietnam War and for his harrowing experiences during the Cambodian genocide, where he lost many family members and endured severe hardships.
After escaping to the United States, Pran became an advocate for human rights and shared his story to raise awareness about the atrocities in Cambodia. His life inspired the film The Killing Fields, which highlights his friendship with journalist Sydney Schanberg and the impact of war on individuals and society.
