Swordtails
Swordtails are colorful freshwater fish belonging to the family Poeciliidae. They are popular in home aquariums due to their vibrant colors and unique tail shape, which resembles a sword. These fish are native to North and Central America, particularly in rivers and streams. Swordtails are livebearers, meaning they give birth to free-swimming young rather than laying eggs.
These fish are generally peaceful and can coexist with other species in community tanks. They thrive in well-planted aquariums with plenty of swimming space. Swordtails are omnivorous, feeding on a diet of flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods, making them easy to care for.
