Swiss Stone Pine
The Swiss Stone Pine (Pinus cembra) is a coniferous tree native to the mountainous regions of the Alps and Carpathians. It typically grows to a height of 20 to 30 meters and is known for its distinctive, straight trunk and dense, needle-like leaves. The tree is well-adapted to cold climates and can thrive in poor, rocky soils.
This species is valued for its durable wood, which is often used in furniture and construction. Additionally, the Swiss Stone Pine produces edible seeds, known as pine nuts, which are a source of nutrition for both wildlife and humans. Its aromatic wood is also believed to have calming properties.
