Swiss Plateau
The Swiss Plateau, also known as the Central Plateau, is a region in central Switzerland characterized by its flat and gently rolling landscape. It lies between the Alps to the south and the Jura Mountains to the north, covering about one-third of the country's total area. This region is known for its fertile soil, making it an important agricultural zone.
The Swiss Plateau is home to several major cities, including Bern, the capital of Switzerland, and Zurich, the largest city. The area features numerous lakes, such as Lake Geneva and Lake Zurich, and is well-connected by an extensive transportation network, facilitating trade and tourism.
