Swiss Neutrality
Swiss neutrality refers to the policy of Switzerland to remain impartial and not participate in military conflicts between other nations. This stance has been a cornerstone of Swiss foreign policy since the early 19th century, particularly after the Congress of Vienna in 1815, which recognized Switzerland's neutrality.
As a result of this policy, Switzerland has avoided involvement in both World Wars and has become a hub for international diplomacy. The country hosts numerous international organizations, including the Red Cross and various United Nations agencies, further solidifying its role as a neutral ground for dialogue and negotiation.
