Swedish festivals
Swedish festivals celebrate the country's rich culture and traditions throughout the year. One of the most famous is Midsummer, held in June, where people gather to dance around a maypole, sing traditional songs, and enjoy a feast of herring and new potatoes. This festival marks the summer solstice and is a time for family and friends to come together.
Another significant celebration is Lucia Day, observed on December 13th. It honors Saint Lucia, a symbol of light during the dark winter months. Festivities include candlelit processions, where a girl dressed as Lucia wears a crown of candles, singing traditional songs and bringing warmth to the cold season.
