Swedish School System
The Swedish school system is divided into several levels, starting with preschool for children aged 1 to 5. After preschool, children enter compulsory school, which lasts for nine years and is divided into three stages: lower primary (grades 1-3), upper primary (grades 4-6), and lower secondary (grades 7-9). Education is free and includes a broad curriculum that covers subjects like mathematics, science, and languages.
After completing compulsory school, students can choose to attend upper secondary school, which lasts for three years and offers various programs, including academic and vocational tracks. The Swedish National Agency for Education oversees the system, ensuring quality and equal opportunities for all students.
