Suu Kyi Government
The Suu Kyi Government refers to the administration led by Aung San Suu Kyi in Myanmar from 2016 until the military coup in February 2021. This government was formed after the National League for Democracy (NLD) won a significant majority in the 2015 general elections, marking a shift towards a more democratic governance after years of military rule.
During her time in office, the Suu Kyi Government focused on various reforms, including economic development and peace negotiations with ethnic armed groups. However, it faced criticism for its handling of the Rohingya crisis, where allegations of human rights abuses emerged, leading to international scrutiny and condemnation.
