Susan Glaspell
Susan Glaspell was an American playwright, novelist, and journalist born on July 1, 1876, in Davenport, Iowa. She is best known for her play Trifles, which highlights themes of gender roles and social justice. Glaspell was a prominent figure in the Theatre Guild and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1921 for her play Alison's House.
In addition to her work in theater, Glaspell wrote several novels and short stories, often exploring the lives of women in early 20th-century America. Her writing reflects her commitment to social issues and her experiences as a woman in a male-dominated society. Glaspell passed away on July 27, 1948.
