Suruga Province
Suruga Province was a historical region located in what is now Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan. It was bordered by Suruga Bay to the south and the Tōkai region to the east. The province was known for its fertile land and was an important area for agriculture, particularly rice cultivation.
During the Edo period, Suruga Province became notable for its production of green tea, which contributed to its economy. The region also had significant cultural importance, with several temples and shrines, including the famous Kunozan Toshogu Shrine, dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Tokugawa shogunate.
