Suri dynasty
The Suri dynasty was a short-lived but significant dynasty in Indian history that ruled from 1540 to 1556. Founded by Sher Shah Suri, it emerged after the decline of the Mughal Empire and is known for its administrative reforms and infrastructure development, including the construction of the Grand Trunk Road.
Under the Suri dynasty, the empire expanded across northern India, and Sher Shah implemented a system of revenue collection that improved the economy. The dynasty's rule ended when Akbar, a prominent Mughal emperor, defeated the last Suri ruler, leading to the resurgence of the Mughal Empire.
