Sural Nerve
The sural nerve is a sensory nerve located in the lower leg. It is formed by branches from the tibial nerve and the common fibular nerve, providing sensation to the skin on the back of the calf and the outer side of the foot.
This nerve plays a crucial role in transmitting sensory information, such as touch and pain, from the lower leg to the brain. Damage to the sural nerve can lead to symptoms like numbness or tingling in the affected areas, impacting mobility and overall quality of life.
