Sundial Bridge
The Sundial Bridge is a pedestrian bridge located in Redding, California. It spans the Sacramento River and connects the Turtle Bay Exploration Park to the north and south sides of the river. Designed by architect Santiago Calatrava, the bridge features a unique design that resembles a sundial, with a large, white pylon casting a shadow on the bridge deck.
Completed in 2004, the Sundial Bridge is made of glass and steel, making it visually striking and functional. It is not only a popular spot for walking and cycling but also serves as a symbol of the city. The bridge is part of the Sacramento River Trail, which offers scenic views and recreational opportunities.
