The Sumatran Tiger is a subspecies of tiger found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It is the smallest of all tiger subspecies, with males weighing between 220 to 310 pounds. This tiger is known for its distinctive dark orange coat with black stripes, which helps it blend into the dense forests and jungles of its habitat. Sumatran Tigers primarily hunt deer, wild boar, and other small mammals. They are solitary animals, marking their territory with scent markings. Unfortunately, the Sumatran Tiger is critically endangered due to habitat loss and poaching, with only a few hundred individuals remaining in the wild.
